Guess what I'll be banging on about here? You guessed it - all my Mac stuff. Now, I hear you. You're saying that there are plenty of people covering the Mac scene and that another one doing the same thing is just boring.

That's where I'll be different. I'll be sharing the stuff I learn and use. I won't be just rehashing the latest press releases. To be honest, that sort of "me too" reporting isn't fun and doesn't really add a lot of value to the world.

My aim is to add value to your Mac life.

Getting Apple Gear Cheap

If you love you're Apple gear but are somewhat budgetarily deficient then it is possible to pick up Apple gear with a full warranty on the cheap.

I've bought several systems for myself from the Apple. In fact, I've recommended it to many friends. Many people don't notice the small link down the side of the Apple Store but there can be some huge bargains to be found. The trick is to look at the current pricing rather than the so-called discount. For example, take a look at the MacBook discounts available today.

The last model in the list suggests a 57% discount whereas the one immediately above it offers a 21% reduction even though they seem to be very similar. In other words, pay attention to what you're buying.

In my experience, almost everything has shipped in the original packaging except for a Mac Mini that came in a generic brown box. It was all packed very securely and the power supply, Apple Remote and DVI-VGA adaptor were new.

The models turn over quite quickly so you may find the model you were ready to buy today is gone tomorrow. However, if you're ready to make a purchase, scroll down the Apple store web page and take a look before splashing out more money than need be.

Almost everything in the Apple inventory appears in the Refurb Store at some time or another.
